Hours: 0700 start 1730 end, 10 hour shifts

Required Qualifications

  • BSN (external candidates).
  • A minimum of 1 year of RN nursing experience if in Oncology.
  • 2 years of RN nursing experience required if non-Oncology.
  • Must be comfortable administering Chemotherapy.
  • Must be familiar with ONS chemo/bio recommendations for handling and administration.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license and current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN (internal candidates).
  • ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification.
  • 2+ years of Oncology experience.
  • Recent Ambulatory Oncology Experience.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse or National Certification in current specialty.
  • IV access experience.

Additional Details

Ability to lift, bend, stoop, reach, carry, push, pull and walk throughout the work period. Must be able to use all senses: seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, and speaking. Able to lift 35 lbs. OHSU provides reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. This position requires frequent intervals of walking significant cumulative distances (ie. escorting patients to rooms, transporting specimens/supplies to other buildings, etc.) standing for long periods of time, and bending. Ability to lift or help position (using correctly learned body mechanics) patients weighing up to but not limited to > 200 lbs with or without assistance. The work environment carries risk of exposure to human tissue/fluids and radiation. Ability with or without reasonable accommodation corrective lenses and/or hearing aids to use the senses of seeing (including color vision ability), hearing, touch, and smell to make correct judgments regarding patient conditions and safely administer care. Use of all hospital approved clinical equipment. Significant use of computers, copiers, multi-line phones, and fax. Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of internal and external customers.

ORIENTATION
  • Specialty Experience: 2-6 weeks
  • Experience, but not in specialty area: 4-8 weeks
  • Commensurate with experience
