DIRECTOR OF FLUID POWER

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

* Responsible for the financial performance development, direction and administration of programs and activities related to supporting MRO Fluid Power sales functions, strategic vision, profitability and customer service.

* Responsible for the providing overall national focus to the MRO fluid power opportunities serviced by the Applied Service Centers and the Fluid Power Subsidiary Companies.

* Responsible for the corporate direction and administration of assigned product lines, programs, and services.

* Active involvement in the Company's Management process as evidenced by continuous improvement of processes directed toward reducing costs, improving cycle time, increasing sales/gross profit and customer satisfaction.

* Continuous development through reading, schools, seminars and on-the-job training.


JOB DUTIES

* Direct, support and initiate all MRO fluid power opportunities sold through the Applied Service Centers.

* Provide Area and Regional marketing support for fluid power subsidiaries.

* Responsible for fluid power pricing guidelines, inventory recommendations, literature and related marketing industry and product initiatives.

* Manage a network of Fluid Power Managers, Fluid Power Specialists, and Technical Service & Sales Representatives who work closely with key department management, Area Vice Presidents, Regional Managers and fluid power subsidiary companies to assure accurate strategic sourcing, product identification and sound financial performances. Position has 6 direct reports and 40 indirect reports

* Responsible for meeting sales, margin, SD&A, and profitability targets.

* Responsible for development, direction and administration of programs and activities related to fluid power initiatives, sales functions, and customer service.

* Maintain adequate field, industrial, and competitive contacts to anticipate or to keep current on developments in markets, products, prices, promotions, and other related fields. Evaluate their application and recommend policies and programs.

* Establish areas of responsibility for sales management. Anticipate or investigate problems and take corrective action.

* Direct management in developing sales knowledge of markets and product lines and ensure customer relations are maintained at a high level. Assist in major areas covering important accounts, make joint calls to key accounts, and close important sales. Consult with management and sales staff as to gaining better sales coverage in a given area and with a given account.

* Responsible for overall product strategy researching and analyzing an assigned product line or service, assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to optimize profit and meet corporate growth objectives, and supporting field personnel on designated product lines.

* Work closely with corporate purchasing, distribution, and accounting areas on matters of mutual concern and responsibilities; review schedules to maintain deliveries and commitments; discuss order status and inventory levels.

* Manage profitability and performance of existing rebate programs, products, and services.

* Coordinate marketing programs with specific suppliers.

* Conduct cadence reviews with Fluid Power Managers review sales, margin, SD&A, profit, inventory, and sales/project pipeline performance while meeting with associates to communicate company goals and results.

* Maintain accurate, complete and timely records of business transactions.

* Hire, train and develop associates following company standards and Management Development process. Conduct associate performance reviews regularly, establish individual goals and ensure completion of relevant training.

* Communicate to associates specific duties and requirements of their job including Core Values and Code of Business Ethics.

* Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business related fields with 7 to 10 years industry related work experience or equivalent. Graduate degree preferred.
