The Enterostomal Nurse Clinician assumes roles of: clinician, consultant, change agent, educator, and participates in research activities. He/she provides expert clinical consultation and education to nurses, family, patient, HCT, regarding their responsibilities for coordinating all aspects of managing and delivering quality, cost effective patient and family centered care specifically, in the areas of Enterostomal and ostomy and continence. The Enterostomal Nurse Clinician collaborates with the nurse and physician to assure that all patients have a comprehensive plan of care that provides continuity across all settings. The Enterostomal Nurse Clinician acts as a resource to the nurse in providing patient/family education. The Enterostomal Nurse Clinician evaluates the success of care coordination, and monitors the quality and continuity of care formally and informally through data analysis, direct observation, chart review, one to one interaction, and/or collaboration with the health care team, Administrators, Multidisciplinary Practice, or Manager.

Completion of Debridement Workshop. Medium physical demands, including constant standing, walking, hearing and vision, intermittent bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting and lowering of 20-50 pounds of force.
Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical examination
Three to five years of relevant clinical experience is required.
BSN required
Current License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Current certification as a Wound Care Nurse by a nationally accredited certifying body(required within 6 months of employment).
