Job Description:

Summary

The Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Team is a crucial component of Cadence Bank's BSA/AML Program. The Enhanced Due Diligence Analyst is responsible for ensuring the evaluation of due diligence information at account inception and periodically thereafter throughout the customer relationship for BSA/AML and OFAC risks posed by higher risk customers. This includes sending necessary Due Diligence questionnaires for High Risk customers if applicable; gathering credit/debit/wire samples as necessary; contacting branch personnel as necessary for information; reviewing the past case history of the customer; completing in-depth Internet research, including negative news searches; and determining, based on account activity, if the account is transacting as expected for the entity type. This position will also be responsible for noting any unusual or possibly suspicious activity and referring that information to the UAR Mailbox.

Essential Job Duties

- Identify potential high-risk customers.

- Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews of all high-risk customers, including analysis of account activity, CDD, interviews with relationship managers, etc.

- Ensure CDD is collected at account inception and is periodically updated during the customer relationship.

- Ensure accurate data collection to comply with the bank's Customer Identification Program (CIP).

- Thoroughly and professionally document a narrative describing the customer with information obtained during the review. All information in case management systems should be updated appropriately and all documents should be attached within the system for retention.

- Communicate effectively and efficiently with account officers, relationship managers, and business lines to obtain needed customer due diligence or enhanced due diligence information.

- Maintain high quantity and quality rates of production.

- Assist with projects as directed by Due Diligence Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED required

- Minimum 1 year of banking experience, experience in customer due diligence preferred.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels

- Must demonstrate strong research skills, with attention to details

- Must be well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and manage deadlines

- Proactive and must be able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree

- Previous BSA/AML experience, preferably in EDD or KYC/CDD

- Industry certification preferred
