JOB TITLE: Information Systems Security Officer

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for assisting the WBB Facility Security Officers (FSOs) and Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements classified computing domains. ISSM will work closely with ISSM, FSO, and program personnel to ensure maintenance and compliance of Information Systems, to include, but not limited to, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and DCSA Assessment and Authorization Manual (DAAPM).

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist with the certification and accreditation (C&A)/Assessment & Authorization (A&A) of standalone computers and networks

* Assist, review, prepare, and update Information System (AIS) authorization packages under the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) RMF guidelines.

* Utilize the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) to upload artifacts and select security controls.

* Assist with the implementation of security procedures.

* Perform information system certification and accreditation planning, testing, assessing and liaison activities.

* Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs).

* Assist with investigations and reporting of security violations and incidents, as appropriate. Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the SSP.

* Assist with completing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) checklists

* Assists with configuration management of assigned systems; auditing systems to ensure security posture integrity

* Interfaces with the appropriate government customers and notifies customer when changes occur that might affect IS authorization

* Perform IS self-inspections, provide security coordination, and review of all system test plans

* Identify IS vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures

* Represent the customer on various technical review and inspection teams

* Assist conducting security surveys at subordinate facilities and gather pertinent security documentation for inclusion into system authorization packages

* Coordinate, prepare, and track IS inspections, reports, and responses

* Maintain IS security records and prepare Co-Utilization Agreements for network nodes operating in government facilities, Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), and support Continuous Monitoring (CONMON)

* Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems

* Perform other IA-related duties as assigned by management on an as required basis

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

* Must have current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

* Minimum of 2 years experience as DCSA NISPOM ISSE, ISSO, and/or related role.

* Experience with eMASS

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience with legacy eMASS systems (OBMS, ODAA)

* Experience with RMF impmentations: DAAPM, CNSSI 1253, ICD-503, JSIG, STIGs, SCAP, IAVA, and/or NIST 800-503

* Certifications: DCSA ISSM; Certified Authorization Professional (CAP); Security+; CISSP; CASP;

WORK LOCATION: Reston (or Crystal City)
