Our Consulting practice is looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 professional to join our Management and Technology group (MTC) as a Senior Solution Architect. In this Manager level role you will be responsible for supporting Microsoft Dynamics AX as well as an upcoming digital transformation to Microsoft D365. In this role you will serve as a subject matter expert for the business processes that relate to Dynamics AX and D365. This role requires a combination of both functional solution expertise as well as interpersonal skills, since it involves working with end users, contractors, and other IT personnel, as well as planning, designing, implementing, and supporting effective system-based business solutions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to clearly define current-state practices, work with process owners to recommend business process improvements, and communicate changes to management for approval and end users for implementation. In this role you must be able to translate business needs into technical requirements. This role will be responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements using a variety of methods and techniques such as: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases / scenarios, and workflow analysis. This role will critically evaluate information gathered from these sources and be able to recommend solutions based on his or her findings.
Professional Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between IT and functional area business units; communicate and collaborate with the project manager to drive tasks to completion.
Responsible for gathering business requirements, fit-gap analysis, configuration, testing, operational assessment readiness for the D365 migration.
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs; locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Coordinate and perform system unit testing and support user acceptance testing.
Provide end user training and support as part of the go-live efforts.
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 AX/D365 support to business users as required.
Spend time with the company's functional groups to understand what systems and data is currently used and what data is currently absent but necessary to make key decisions.
Help design a set of reports and dashboards.
Learn the current state of the company's systems and data repositories, understand the data, including its limitations and potential
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and create reports; develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize data quality
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Learn company business processes related to the AX/D365 modules to assist users and provide backup in the areas of GL/AR/AP, Purchasing, Production, Inventory Management, Distribution, and supporting processes
Coordinate activities with implementation partners and other contractors
Assist as needed in the implementation of new business technologies
Experience with migrating reports from Legacy applications, i.e. MS Excel and SSRS to more robust BI solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business subject, e.g. Information Technology, Finance, or related curriculum
8 to 12 years' experience as senior consultant/architect or similar role
Prior experience with Life Science, Manufacturing, Distribution, Finance & Accounting industry verticals preferred
Knowledge of core ERP processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, etc.)
Well versed in Accounting concepts pertaining to various types of cost objects.
Detail and process-oriented approach to problem solving, with a strong understanding of ERP data analysis, especially related to manufacturing and distribution
Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency with MS Office suite
Ability to build productive relationships and influence all levels of the organization towards alternative ways of looking at a business situation/solution
Able to work independently and as a team member and mentor other as needed
Scrum Master Certification (CSM) desired
Product Owner Certification (CSPO) desired
Proficient with Internet search tools, presentation tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
Strong communication skills, including an ability to write business-level requirements through stories, wireframes, and flows
Excellent conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking skills; a curiosity to learn and optimize complex systems at scale
Small team leadership experience with the ability to earn trust while still challenging the team to improve and operate outside its comfort zone and environment
Proven experience coaching, mentoring and teaching junior Agile practitioners
Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with demonstrated experience exercising mature judgment in delicate situation
Ability to travel up to 50%
