Summary:

The successful candidate will join the specialist team of Unity installation engineers carrying out the installation of Elekta MR Guided radiotherapy machines across the globe.

Unity is a complex product requiring the individual to have a very diverse skill set including Project & Site management, management & coordination at customer sites of 3rd party installation engineers/crews, fault finding complex electronic systems, HT and RF power generation, vacuum systems, liquid Helium systems, water systems, pressurized gas systems, mechanical assembly, MRI Magnet’s, Faraday cages, adjustment of the radiation beam’s to achieve the required output specification.

Responsibilities:


  • Successfully complete complex system installations and performance checks, achieving high satisfaction levels of both external & internal customers

  • To be able to manage own workload, be highly motivated, dynamic and have good leadership skills problem solving skills

  • To work with partner organizations during the installation to ensure seamless communication and corrective action of supplier’s subsystems. Ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • To support the project management in fine tuning the project schedule on a site by site bases.

  • To complete the administration requirements of the role in accordance with the quality & IT Information systems in a timely and accurate manner to ensure data is always up to date & accurate

  • To provide feedback to project teams and line manager of any problems, solutions or opportunities which may need to be communicated to other parties.

  • Demonstrates innovation and use experience to influence design changes to improve product performance.

  • To be prepared to work as required at times and locations dictated by the needs of the customer and Elekta.

  • To follow at all times Elekta’s quality and safety policies

  • To engender and support Elekta values

  • To represent Elekta in a professional and positive manner

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

  • Responsible for completing set jobs in timescales determined by Unity installations Director

  • Completion of relevant quality and install documentation.

  • To provide training and certifying of new team members (Once certified)

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in servicing/installing Linac and/or MRI systems, or very similar technology

  • Minimum HNC in a related engineering discipline or equivalent experience

  • Completion of Linac and/or MRI technical training courses – preferred

  • To have excellent knowledge of and compliance with safe working practices within a Magnetic Resonance Imaging field environment – preferred

  •  To have excellent knowledge and proven skills in electronics, mechanics, pc’s and servers, networking, high vacuum, high/low voltage & current, diagnostic equipment and a general knowledge of all engineering disciplines.

  • Good Project Management skills.

  • Extensive practical, manual and workmanship skills

  • Competent with relevant IT technology including Windows OS, Microsoft Office applications and networking

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience servicing or installing complex capital equipment

  • Proven ability to manage own environment and complete the tasks deployed to them

  • Self-starting, pro-active, demonstrable drive and commitment to Elekta & the task in hand

  • Clean Driving License
