If you are an engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Latham, NY location, you will be an essential member of a team-oriented Turbine Retrofit Project Group with responsibilities for customer order/specification review, project management and turbine control system engineering.    AS A GAS TURBINE PROJECT ENGINEER YOU WILL:   

• Review and maintain customer specifications to project scope


• Manage as-sold financial performance of projects


• Multiple project project management coordination with customers


• Manage internal schedules and resources


• Provide direction and engineering support to project team


• Mentor, instruct, and guide project personnel


• Management of project deliverables


• Manage in-house project and site installation schedules/activities and associated resources


• Develop project specific control system I/O database


• Develop retrofit redline/whiteline and installation drawing packages


• Engage in implementation and test phases of turbine designs

You anticipate customer needs and provide services that are beyond customer expectations. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are exceptional at spotting and seizing opportunities. You always keep the end in sight and put in extra effort to meet deadlines.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical engineering preferred)


• A minimum of seven years of directly related experience with managing and executing turbine control retrofit projects


• Strong project management and installation/maintenance experience


• Strong technical competency with control systems and sub-systems related to combustion turbines


• Includes 15% travel


• Legal authorization to work in the United States -
