Job Summary:
* Responsible for proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and storage of instrumentation for surgery and outside departments.
* Demonstrate proficiency in infection control techniques.
* Maintain instruments and supplies at appropriate inventory levels to meet department needs.
* Knowledgeable in operations and troubleshooting Central Sterile equipment.
* Functions as a resourceful person
* Participates in and demonstrates compliance with the Patient Safety Initiatives, National Patient Safety Goals (i.e. infection control, hand washing, etc.)
* Actively involved in Performance Improvement process as applicable to department.
The 128-bed Parkridge East Hospital in East Ridge provides a full range of medical and surgical services, such as orthopedics and robotic surgery. Our 24/7 Emergency Department is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The Birth Place at Parkridge East offers a comfortable, private setting in which families welcome new additions. Our 22-bassinet level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offers comprehensive care for babies born at less than 28 weeks gestation or with critical illnesses.

QUALIFICATIONS
* High School Diploma or equivalent, Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician Program preferred
* Certified Registered Central Sterile Tech, BLS required within 3 months of hire.
* 1 year experience preferred
