Operations Manager- Specialty Construction at PPG Industries in Avon, Massachusetts

Job Description:

As an Operations Manager - Specialty Construction, you will oversee the operations and project management of a specialty construction segment for PPG Aerospace, parent company of Cuming Lehman Chambers and Cuming Microwave Corporation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborating with engineers, architects, construction personnel and industry partners; establishes and maintains credible, professional relationships with clients, the internal manufacturing plant (PPG Cuming Microwave), and external vendors
• Oversee project managers/coordinators, and field personnel; ability to be "hands on" when required or called upon
• Selecting of subcontractors and delegating work
• Problem-solving to address delays, emergencies or other issues
• Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements
• Reporting progress to clients and to internal leadership
• Explaining contract and technical matters in a clear manner
• Preparing budgets, cost estimates, schedules and timelines; proven track record of managing schedules and cost control
• Knowledge of freight and logistics to support project mobilizations
• Organize and host project kick-off meetings and final inspections
• Present company and capabilities to perspective customers
• Works closely with management team to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance functions within the segment are being properly executed in accordance to industry standards

Qualifications :

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• Relevant Project Management Certifications and job experience.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial/industrial construction and project management
