Job Description:

Summary The Danville Forge Team Member reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for visually inspecting parts at the end of the line, to ensure there are no defects. Major Areas of Responsibility • Inspect parts for defects• Tag parts appropriately• Complete necessary checks and inspections Specific Responsibilities of the Job• Visually inspect the part for defects such as seams, skid rail lines, laps, and under fill• Ensure embossments and lettering is legible• Attach balance code to part• Ensure part meets Product Inspector specifications• Print and attach defect tag • Parts that pass inspection can be placed on skid• Ensure defected parts are placed in respective location• Operate fork truck to transport obstructions as necessary and fill out fork truck check report• Complete daily Hoist Inspection Sheet and Mag Machine Inspection Sheet• Operate equipment including but not limited to saw, conveyor, visual inspection station, S&I tables, banding tools and equipment, hoist, grinder Standards of Performance• Defective parts are identified and good parts pass inspection Essential Functions• Proficient in English Language• Ability to perform repetitive work• Walking in a manufacturing setting with multiple stairs and inclines• Ability to perform physical duties necessary for Final Control• Education/Credentials/CertificationsHigh School Diploma• Length of Experience1 year of experience in production preferred• Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to read a caliper and rulerAbility to read part letter sheetsAbility to effectively communicate part and production issues Excellent reasoning and problem solving ability Team Player Ability to cope with change Manual skills to operate tools and equipment such as rolling a crank, hitting a lap stamp with a hammer, full range of movement to operate a hoist, ability to climb on a fork truck• Physical Demands and Working ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.• In terms of movement, the job may require standing, reaching, handling, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination; and frequent walking, balancing, feeling, talking, and hearing• May require occasional sense of smell to determine if a machine may be producing a burning smell• In terms of vision, the job may require use of near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and frequent use of field of vision• Hazards may include proximity to moving, mechanical parts• May require medium physical strength**Physical Strength:Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.Forged Technologies
