Edelman Dallas is looking for a Creative Project Manager to join a thriving creative practice in the Southwest. The right person will be equal parts left brain and right brain. You should be meticulously organized but understand the nature of creative work. You should know when to schedule a client follow-up call, a brainstorm, and a check-in – and when to step back and let the team do their thing.

The right person for this role should not want a repetitive day-to-day and should feel confident about diving into the unknown - because it will happen. Often.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Creative Management

• Fosters a creative culture by inspiring and mentoring the creative team

• Regularly facilitate creative brainstorming events and working sessions with the team to develop innovative concepts and keep ideas fresh

• Manage the project timelines and workflow of the creative team, combining design/copy best practices with key data to set creative direction and help inform decision-making for the team

• Work to establish production schedules and ensure projects are completed on time

• Understand the creative skillsets of each staff member and works with the Creative Director to develop the team and broaden skill sets

Resource Management

• Work with the creative director to keep the creative team properly utilized and engaged with client work

• Protect the creative team from extraneous risks to existing workflows and project scopes as well preventing the team from burn out 

Project Management

• Experience managing and trafficking interactive, digital, print and OOH projects

• Ability to access the level of effort needed on creative deliverables and provide a scope of work

• Possess an understanding of Adobe products, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and project management software

• Be able to manage multiple high-stakes projects at once

Production Management

• Possess knowledge of typical creative production and requirements, such as motion graphics, video editing, print production, digital organic and paid media production and trafficking, and talent casting

• Familiarity and experience with third-party and production partner landscape, both locally and nationally

• Act in the producer role for creative deliverables requiring production beyond the core creative team

Creative Strategy

• Assist in bringing our clients brands to life in cohesive and authentic ways, across platforms, with highly innovative and impactful creative that will connect consumers with our brand and deliver measurable business results

• Advocate for and present creative work to internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization

• Collaborate with external ad agencies in the development and execution of creative campaigns

Budget Management

• Assist in developing estimates for creative work based on information and briefing of project requests from the account team or the client directly

• Track creative spend (both time and OOPs) against approved budgets and scopes of work to ensure creative team profitability

• Communicate with account team regularly on the status of the budget and project timeline


Here’s what we’re looking for:

• A Bachelor's degree and 3 - 6 years of experience in a project management, resource management, producer, or similar role - Agency experience preferred

• Excellent interpersonal skills. From conference calls to cocktail parties, you should love developing relationships with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders

• Ability to bridge the gap between account management and creative teams, ensuring seamless discussions and translation of client needs to final product
