Design & Development Component Engineer























The Design & Development Component Engineer leads component development activities for use in new electronic products in high reliability applications.  The position interfaces directly with global suppliers, internal and external engineering teams and others to resolve technical issues and recommend new technologies.





Primary Responsibilities Candidate Profile


  • Define & deploy development of new component technology platforms in a cross-functional team for new product applications through testing, simulation and prototypes

  • Use systematic problem solving approaches to resolve quality/performance issues with suppliers, development and manufacturing teams

  • Lead testing and validation of components for high reliability applications, by performing use case based electrical and environmental stress tests

  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager




Education / Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science or higher in electrical engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science or equivalent physical science

  • 4 years of experience in electronic component development or manufacturing

  • Demonstrated knowledge of low power, high voltage and/or high speed analog and digital circuit designs, and components such as ASICs diodes, FETs, memory, transformers, crystals, discrete capacitors, inductors, resistors, etc.

  • Knowledge of component packaging, assembly processes and materials

  • Experience or familiarity with quality systems including technical writing of quality-relevant documentation.
