What you will do

As a Materials Supervisor, you will lead the raw materials planning function, assuring daily material availability to meet on time production schedule and on time delivery to Customers. We have all 3 shifts available at this time.  We are excited to connect with you!

How you will do it

• Prepares Materials monthly Inventory reports and analysis, Supplier Scorecards and action plans

• Directs Supplier Delivery Improvements and Procurement Escalation activities for assigned commodities and suppliers

• Supports the selection and hiring of analytical individuals for the Materials Planning and Materials Control functions; Identifies Training needs, plans and carries out Trainings.

• Lead optimization of ERP system planning parameters to guarantee Customer’s demand information flows consistently through the entire value stream, including JCI San Antonio Plant and global suppliers.

• Lead the identification of process gaps within the Materials Planning, Materials Control and Inventory Control processes, developing future state and action plans to establish standard work and sustainable long-term alignment of supply from global vendors, through effective use of MRP, Kanban replenishment methods to optimize inventory level meet KPI goals.

• Supports application, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Operating System (BOS).

• Lead the maintenance of ERP system records for inventory control in accordance with Johnson Controls Manufacturing Systems and drive the maturity of those systems.

• Lead the Materials and Inventory Control functions tracking materials shortages and stock outs to resolve these asap, minimizing impact, and lead the corrective actions

• Coordinate with Master Scheduling to execute anticipated replenishment of the production line, per Master production Schedule

• Manage the SOI (Supplier Owned Inventory) with regular reporting of JCI’s current obligation by part in terms of Days Inventory On Hand

• Optimize incoming truck utilization and ensure freight expenditures comply with the latest version of the routing guide so as to increase the accuracy of the assumptions for forecast freight costs

• Serve as Champion to optimize and maintain all Kanban and floor stock materials.

• Work with Quality to promote disposition (in erp system) all Non-Conformance parts within 48 hrs.

• Guarantee the daily accurate receiving.

• Manage receiving discrepancies and damages through vendor RMA process (Return Material Authorization).

• Train Material Clerks and Cycle Counters to identify, resolve and prevent inventory inaccuracy > 2%

• Report engineering BOM’s errors (Bills of Materials) via ECR

• Promotes safe working conditions & practices during plant visits, initiates corrective actions or process improvements as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Directs the progress of the Johnson Controls Manufacturing System as Material Control Subject Matter Expert which includes coaching, 2nd party assessments, acceleration events and other roles and responsibilities as defined.

  • Able and willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combined education and experience.

  • A minimum of three (3) years first line supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making ability.

  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills.

  • Demonstrate full knowledge and understanding of production processes and methods, and strong knowledge of safety requirements and standards.

  • Basic understanding of materials system.

  • Ability to train, organize and supervise the efforts of a work group.


Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Experience with SAP
