Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Perform and conduct material, product and/or process inspections and verifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Individual must be capable of reading and interrupting basic engineering drawings and specifications

- Make or perform both basic or precision measurements using standard metrology equipment; such as: micrometers, calipers, surface plates, height gauges, optical comparators, hardness testers, and CMM

- Must be able to work in both indoor and outside environments.

- Perform both process and product audits to determine compliance with drawings, specifications, process procedures and routings.

- Must have good communications skills

- Initiate effective Corrective and Preventative Actions as required

- Must have good computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel

- Must be able to learn and work with SAP ERP System

- Participate with Material Review Control Board, when required

- Perform receiving inspection functions as required

Skills and Experience

Lifting 35 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Person must have the ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
