If you are an engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Ivyland, PA location or our Amherst, WI location, you will be a part of the Hydropower Solutions Field Service group provides field support and on-site governor system expertise to hydro power plants in North America. The group supports a variety of field activities which can include site supervision, digital control commissioning, equipment installation, and mechanical maintenance on governors, hydraulic pressure units, and related equipment. You will demonstrate a broad range of skills, a willingness to learn, and will become an essential part of the Hydro Solutions Field Service Team supporting the North American Hydro power industry.

 

AS A FIELD ENGINEERING SPECIALIST, YOU WILL: 


  • Visit customer sites and perform required tasks (i.e. installation, repair, troubleshooting and etc.)

  • Strictly follow all Emerson and customer safety requirements

  • Complete accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all field service visits including a detailed service report, timesheet, and expense report

  • Comment on and deliver on-site governor classroom and hands-on training

  • Become a subject matter expert for governors and auxiliaries from a broad range of time periods

  • Be able to confidently discuss and troubleshoot system problems

WHO YOU ARE:

You deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. You anticipate customer needs and provide services that are beyond customer expectations. You quickly and decisively take actions in fact-changing, unpredictable situations.

 

REQUIRED
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience

  • If lieu of not having a Bachelor's degree, then a minimum of 8 years
    experience in the power industry would be required

  • Strong autonomous work ethic

  • Must have good written
    communication skills

  • The position can require up to
    75% travel during outage season

  • Legal authorization to work in
    the United States

  • Mechanical abilities a plus

  • Creative troubleshooting skills
