Job Summary
Responsible for the design, development, and processing of implants and instruments under the direction of a project leader or manager. Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential. An understanding of human physiology and joint mechanics is required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility, and optimum cost |
Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts |
Coordinating product evaluation with surgeons |
Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product |
Generating design assurance documentation for the project |
Expected Areas of Competence
Education/Experience Requirements
B.S. degree from an ABET accredited school (or global equivalent) in an engineering or science discipline, as preferred by the specific department and 0 to 3 years of experience.
Travel Requirements
Up to 10%
