Inventory Control Specialist - 1st Shift at The Ames Companies, Inc. in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Hours: Monday through Friday, 6am- 2pm


 


Position Summary



Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for cycle counting, variance analysis, and data gathering/researching quality issues in our distribution center.


 Major Responsibilities


·         Manage all system cycle counts and re-counts and conduct cycle count variance investigations when required in a given time period.


·         Will review inventory inaccuracies and assist with the development and implementation of appropriate solutions.


·         Gathers, analyzes and computes recorded inventory on hand from all systems and compares the physical counts.


·         Maintains inventory systems:  Oracle, Catalyst, NGS, and CHESS.


·         Ensures “New Item Setup” has the proper “Master Strategy” and “Location Class” using our ECB (Engineering Change Bulletin) and NII (New Item Introduction) processes once the item drops in the system.


·         Initiates and participates in continuous improvement through cost savings and other related activities.


·         Gives and welcomes constructive feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit.


·         Perform other duties within department as assigned (including, but not limited to, training; access supporting business systems, initiate, participate and lead continuous improvement activities, and cover for supervisor in running production floor, etc.).        


·         Assist leads and supervisors with any inventory related issues.


·         May perform the Distribution Operator job function as assigned per business necessity.


·         Assist with outside auditors.


·         Ability to prepare end of the month SOX documents


·         Assist other facilities as needed.


·         Assist other departments for needs including new item setup, cubing issues, and engineering issues.


·         Assist in required systems testing.


·         Follows all policies and procedures, best practices, and OSHA regulations. 


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities




Education Requirements


·   High School diploma or GED


·   Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division


Relevant Work Experience


Minimum of three months or more related experience
