We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Category Manager within our Corporate Services Group primarily supporting Human Resources! This exciting position will play a critical role in supporting new and strategic initiatives. The Category Manager leads the strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting and supplier management for a complex portfolio of services including, but not limited to, the following categories: healthcare benefits and administration, payroll services, and multiple employee engagement offerings. The purpose of the position is to create value while reducing total cost of ownership, by leveraging world-class negotiation and sourcing strategies, tools and processes, and to mitigate risk through contract development for non-merchandise goods and services acquired by Best Buy. This position interacts with managers, directors and officers throughout the Best Buy organization. At Best Buy, you own an end-to-end relationship; Having experience in all phases of the vendor selection process (sourcing, RFX, contracting, etc.) is required for success in this role.
Job Responsibilities: Team Leader that independently manages category(ies) end to end, to achieve desired business objectives including:
Develop and execute category strategies end-to-end
Strategically source a complex portfolio of GNFR (Goods Not For Resale) services with emphasis in human resources, risk and consulting services while using a variety of tools, processes, and strategies
Set Direction/priorities for team on projects
Lead and/or support manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Achieve Stakeholder’s business requirements, scope of work, and budget while effectively capturing spend and savings
Be a trusted advisor by effectively developing and maintaining effective relationships with Stakeholders, including regular meeting rhythms and forward-looking planning to anticipate and support business needs
Develops, leads and maintains effective relationships with vendors
Demonstrate proficiency in 7-step sourcing processes
Train and coach team on sourcing best practices to achieve desired outcomes
Support consistency, transparency, alignment and synergies among all Sourcing and Category Management teams, creating an environment to remove silos in sourcing execution
Build and maintain deep subject matter expertise and industry knowledge within the established portfolio set of products and services
Drive sourcing best practices and enterprise value through cross-functional influential engagement including stakeholders, legal, amongst other required capabilities
Support communications with cross-functional areas in establishing and sustaining this centralized sourcing function, ensuring compliance in the use of sourcing services
Closely partner with Procurement Operations team to ensure a total sourcing and procurement solution is delivered to Best Buy. Utilize operations support to deliver optimal outcomes. Partner and collaborate with 3rd party sourcing providers if required. Support end-to-end source-to-pay process through launch of new iProcurement tool
You would be an ideal candidate for this role if you:
Have demonstrated and extensive end-to-end experience in establishing vendor partnerships – from new vendor sourcing, RFX, contracting, and SOW (Statement of Work) execution.
Strong background supporting human resources.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Basic Qualifications:
5 or more years’ experience in sourcing, negotiation and contracting
Preferred Experience and Skills:
4 or more years of end-to-end category specific procurement experience with in each of following areas
Human Resources background
Experience with third-party administration business models
2 or more years of experience handling procurement contracts in excess of one million dollars
1 or more years’ experience working with and leveraging outsourced service providers
