Job Description:

The IT Systems Engineer serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is measured by customer service, system up time, project implementation, and met deadlines. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:

• Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.

• Provide accurate, reliable status updates and communication to end users and management as necessary.


• Make recommendations to purchase software or software products to increase productivity and provide better service to end-user.


• Assist with troubleshooting efforts as needed.


• Identify needs and participate in the end user training program including development, maintenance and presentation of training materials.


• Develop new applications and system procedures.


• Keep informed of current industry developments and technology.


• Assist with the development and/or enforcement of applicable policies and standards.

• Coordinates with ww Production IT team. Plans, coordinate, and manage IT projects. Works in conjunction with IT teams in Europe to ensure project stays on time and on budget.

Area of Focus:

The IT Systems Engineer has the opportunity to focus on different sides of IT infrastructure, Production IT and Data Center.

Production IT

• Maintains the Production PC environment. Installs and troubleshoots hardware and software.


• Manages Production IT related servers and services that directly impact the production environment.


• Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains repository of production client software. This includes software directly related to production needs. Responsible for testing and installing upgrades in a timely manner.


• Monitors Production networks. Coordinates with team to monitor and troubleshoot problems related to the production network. Specific tasks include: management of Production VLANS, IP Addressing, and Access List configuration. Also coordinates installation and troubleshooting of the physical network with the Plant Electrician.


• Assists with Active Directory issues related to Production such as the creation of new Organizational Units and Group Policies.


• Monitors and maintains support agreements and maintenance contracts related to the Production IT environment.


• Supports Logistics operations by acting as a resource for Fork Trucks/Scales, and production line workstations and scanners.


• Supports Quality operations by acting as a resource for equipment based in the quality labs and line gauges. May assist Data Collection with quality data.

Data Center

• Perform server hardware and software support, second level user support.


• Email administration for internal and external functions.


• SAN administration to ensure highest availability of datacenter files.


• Develop system and user documentation.


• Administer Active Directory Groups, users and policies, Microsoft server environment, virtual environment, antivirus security system, and wireless barcode scanners and related telnet console systems.


• Implementation of new functionalities in cooperation with our WAN, SAP, and HQ counterparts.


• Monitor and adjust all network software for smooth and continuous performance.


• Software delivery including OS patches, commercial and proprietary programs.


• Provide technical support, analyze problems and evaluate new technical developments and upgrades, recommend appropriate actions, assess proposed systems and identify impacts on current and planned resources.


• Participate in the study of vendor products to determine which best meet the Company needs.


• Assist in presentations of information to management resulting in purchase and/or installation of hardware, software and telecommunications equipment.


• Design computer and environmental locals.


• Print management, maintain all aspects of printers.


• Coordinate software, hardware, capacity planning, installation, maintenance and training.


• Maintain and support technical aspects of door security system and documented backup/restore procedures of datacenter files


• Ensure conformance to established datacenter policies, procedures and standards.


• Monitor, log and track user issues by utilizing the Help Desk System.


• Evaluate, maintain, test and/or execute disaster recovery plans for area of responsibility. Continually evaluate the quality and timeliness of services provided and initiate changes as required.


• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with cell phone provider, cell phone equipment, and Mobile Device Management server. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with Video Surveillance servers, and cameras. Troubleshoot resolve problems with Cisco Call Manager and IP Phones.
