Technician, Installations at DUMAC BUSINESS SYSTEMS INC. in East Syracuse, New York

Job Description:

Summary
Completes entire Point of Sales (POS) hardware and cabling installation across all verticals (Quick Service Restaurants, Supermarkets and Convenience Stores) throughout our geographies. Completes system testing prior to turning system over to training team.

Essential Functions
› Provides on-site cabling and hardware installation of POS systems or components per sales order; this includes running and terminating low voltage cables and mounting brackets for monitors and equipment
› Performs testing upon completion of system installation to ensure all devices are functioning correctly
› Works with minimal supervision and can handle most situations on their own
› Perform minor repairs to equipment while on-site
› Able to provide technical advice and resolves project problems
› Provides technical advice and resolves project problems
› Coordinates with departmental groups involved in projects
› Performs set-up/configuration and/or training for projects assigned or assists others as needed
› Trains customers and/or coworkers on the use, set-up, and maintenance of software applications
› Setup of store servers, applications, and processes needed to bring a store live autonomously
› Install operating systems, software, patches, upgrades, and hardware (i.e. servers, PC's, switches and routers)

Required Qualifications
› Requires high school diploma and 1+ years of experience in a technical position
› Well-rounded knowledge of the tools and techniques necessary to perform the systems installations
› Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
› Possess the accountability and personal responsibility to own and drive results
› Ability to work independently and part of a team environment
› Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

› Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and logical problem-solving skills

Work Environment
Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. Out of town travel to perform installations, attend seminars and classes or address remote site installation required.
