Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Summary: Responsible for conceptualization, engineering design and specification, and evaluation of new product concepts, platforms and technologies.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

* Responsible for new product development from concept through production, which includes these activities:

* Define, conceptualize, detail, test and evaluate innovative concepts for new products and/or custom applications.

* Evaluate changes or improvements to design or specification of existing products.

* Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Marketing to create solutions for diverse OEM markets.

* Maintain a high level of interaction with customers and sales managers.

* Adheres to all safety regulations.

* Demonstrates support of CPC core values.

* Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:

Required Job Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, or another related field.

* Strong project management skills.

* ProE or other CAD proficiency.

* Strong mechanical aptitude.

* Demonstrated history of design innovation.

* Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook.

* Strong verbal and written communications skills required; must be able to communicate effectively will internal departments, vendors and customers.

* 5 years' experience in design of mass produced products such as automotive, appliances, toys, etc.

* Competent in the design and development of plastic components.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

* Advanced technical degree

* Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics

* Design experience with fluid handling components for medical applications.

* Design and manufacturing experience with silicone components.

* Design and manufacturing experience with polymer membranes and/or films.

* Demonstrated history of working directly with customers to translate their needs into innovative new products.

* Familiarity with ISO13485.
