Position Summary
The Local Sales Manager will build and lead a cohesive team of Advertising Account Executives, develop market strategies, create, communicate and execute sales plans and other market initiatives to meet and exceed expected revenue goals. The team of Advertising Account Executives is responsible for developing and growing a base of local clients and/or agencies purchasing advertising on our 100+ TV channels and our vast digital and Advanced Advertising media offerings.

Essential Position Functions

* Leads a team of Advertising Account Executives and is responsible for activities associated with the following; hiring, evaluating performance, developing sales skills, coaching and motivating others

* Manage the local market territory to proactively identify and address key accounts and growth opportunities

* Coach Account Executives to develop and increase advertising revenue

* Serves as evangelist and Thought Leader in the advanced advertising and digital media space with a focus on emerging technology and Spectrum Reach s position in the marketplace

* Partner with the Advanced Advertising, Sales Support and Category teams to ensure the team is setting the appropriate strategies to meet and exceed goals

* Provide training, development, and coaching of Account Executives on sales techniques, account planning, account management, quantitative and qualitative research tools, and cultivation of key accounts and growth industries

* A major function of this role is to help others learn and grow in their ability to sell Advanced Advertising at an expert level. Teaching others, and demonstrating this skillset is essential to this function and this leader not only needs to understand the digital landscape, but they must have a passion for growing others in this continuously changing product landscape

* Evaluate effectiveness of sales strategies and implements changes as needed

* Create and maintain a winning sales and professional office environment

* Assist Director of Media Sales with establishing local revenue and sales goals as well as with the implementation of sales projections and budgets for the sales staff

* Work in conjunction with Director of Media Sales to maximize pricing, sponsorships, promotions, and inventory utilization

* Conduct presentations to advertising agencies and potential clients regarding advertising opportunities with Spectrum Reach

* Monitor bad debt and collection of local accounts, payment schedules

Required Qualifications

* 5+ Years of Sales experience

* Ideal candidate has 2+ years of leading high performing teams focused on multiscreen advertising campaigns including television, digital media, data informed advertising and programmatic media sales along with previous experience incorporating these attributes into sales strategies

* Must demonstrate a success in revenue goal achievement and year over year growth of multiscreen advertising campaigns, which include traditional media, digital and programmatic competitors such as Facebook, Google, etc.

* Demonstrate the ability to get others excited about multi-screen ad sales solutions. Must be a proactive and a constant learner with regards to advanced advertising, multi-screen solutions and a history of keeping in front of the ever changing advertising landscape.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills

* A thought leader and an early adopter of emerging products

* Ideally has proficiency in dashboard platform utilization for media planning, measurement, and business intelligence

* Maintain a high level of professionalism in the community, with clients, and staff

* Utilize available research to create proposals and sales collateral

* A Bachelor s or Master s Degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Willingness and ability to travel as required up to 20%
