Overview

Enterprise Information Services, LLC (EIS), a Cognosante Company, as the Managing Member of the ITES Solutions, LLC Joint Venture, is seeking a highly motivated Enterprise Storage and Virtualization Architect to support all activities for our potential Command, Control, and Infrastructure Operations (C2IO) program for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) headquartered out of Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities

The Enterprise Storage and Virtualization Architect will provide technical leadership in support of INSCOM and their strategy around virtualization and Cloud Computing. This is an opportunity to really make a difference in supporting our U.S. Army Intelligence Community.
Engineering/Architectural responsibilities include:

Conduct architectural design sessions with customers to help them develop an approach and strategy around their virtualization and cloud computing needs.

Provide guidance and recommendation on current VDI infrastructure and growth potential.

Provide Technical and Delivery leadership on virtualization projects involving virtualization or Private Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).

Recommend program/project release schedules based on knowledge of software development life cycle;
- Recommend solutions that deliver functionality and ensures the integrity of the overall system.
- Perform document reviews to ensure effective and appropriate environment changes and demonstrate ability to escalate needs when necessary.
- Participate in identifying business requirements.
Operational responsibilities include:
- Deploy and Maintain a multi-server, environments including: VMware cluster(s), Windows Server 2008 /2012 R2 and UNIX/LINUX platforms.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis while working with developers to identify problems and resolutions with in-house and over the counter software applications.
- Upgrade and configure system software per project and/or operational needs.
- Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
- Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
- Prepare basic reports and presentations as requested or necessary within the IT team.

Grant and remove access to server and related resources.

Monitor daily software builds and resolve problems as needed.

Create, change, and delete user accounts & groups per request.
- Configure and administrate VMware and Windows Server operating systems

Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

Configure/add new services as necessary.

Qualifications

Clearance and Certifications
- Active DoD TS clearance with eligibility for SCI with Special Background Investigation and be able to attain SI, TK, G, and HCS access
Preferred certifications:
- DAWIA Level IV Program Management
Additional Qualifications
- Five (5) years of senior storage administrator experience within the last twelve (12) years;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with VMware vSphere within the last seven (7) years;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience designing and implementing storage systems within the last seven (7) years;
- Current certification in at least one (1) storage platform; and
- Current certification in VMware vSphere.
- Able to travel 50% of time
