Job Description:

Best Buy' Digital &Technology team is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst - Web, knowledgeable in web-based customer facing applications and Agile software development practices, to work on key digital / e-commerce initiatives on BestBuy.com.

The Senior Web Business Analyst takes point on new product features and initiatives in identifying the business needs, translating them into requirements and ensuring solutions successfully meets the requirements. This role would also begin to set some standards and processes within the planning and executing of business analysis activities including stakeholder analysis, managing project risks and issues, monitor and report on requirements activities, participating or facilitating user acceptance testing. This individual will need strong analytical skills and should have the ability to effectively work cross functionally, an ability to put together a point of view and communicate concisely to gain alignment across stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and monitor the planning and executing of business analysis activities including stakeholder analysis, participating, or facilitating user acceptance testing through internal and/or external resources


• Develop user stories that are concise and testable


• Mentor/teach new team members the system functionality and assist in on-boarding


• Build and maintain traceability of the user stories, functional requirements, and deliverables.


• Participate in user acceptance testing. Debugs data issues between and within systems


• Scrum Master to host everyday stand-ups, sprint planning, release planning, present demos and gather feedback


• Prioritize requirements along with product owner, gathering, providing, and assessing data points for requirements

• 5+ years' experience with increasing responsibilities in a Business Analyst position focused on web-based projects and working with software development methodologies to include waterfall, iterative and/or agile, and a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering, or 2 additional years of the same experience without a bachelor’s degree


• 1+ years’ experience with RESTful design patterns for API and using tools specific to REST APIs


• 1+ years working with different disciplines in customer facing application domain such as Engineering, Product, and User experience

• Experience in an eCommerce/retail organization.


• Understanding or exposure to mobile domain is desirable


• Experience with Agile software tools such as JIRA


• In-depth knowledge of business systems functionality and interconnectedness. Can effectively communicate functionality and requirements needed through all levels of the business and engineering teams


• In-depth requirements gathering experience to the extent they can document and define business logic and rules within the broader team’s areas of responsibility


• Experience and understanding of the software development cycle, design research and A/B testing methods, API’s, HTML, CSS, and web analytics


• Ability to understand basic and complex architectural diagrams and data flows


• Experience with varied production methodologies such as forms of Agile development and/or Lean Development


• Track record of project execution; complete/ship excellent products on time/budget


• Knowledge of user experience trends and digital / web consumer behaviors


• Exposure and familiarity with front end and server-side technologies and frameworks


• Proven ability to work under rapid development cycles with medium to large teams to achieve a common goal
