Agilex Fragrances has a career growth opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist based at our Piscataway, New Jersey location. Reporting to the Sr Director HR, this position will be responsible to carry out operational, tactical and administrative support to the organization. Deliver HR expertise in all areas covering employee life cycle activities including, but not limited to talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, training & development. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Essential Responsibilities and Functions:
- Responsible for recruitment life cycle, including job posting creation, sourcing, screening, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Perform recruitment administrative activities, this includes ensures timely completion of offer letters, post-offer background checks, scheduling drug screening and employee eligibility verifications, conduct follow up with candidates to ensure smooth pre-onboarding process.
- Performs new hire orientation and identify ways to streamline process ensuring employees are onboarded in an engaging and supportive environment.
- Independently manage employee relations issues and work with management to ensure fair and equitable resolutions. Support and provide guidance to management with performance matters, employee disputes and resolutions; conduct investigations; ensuring consistency in policy and practice application and escalate broader based issues to immediate supervisor and/or the HR Leadership on more complex issues.
- Be available as point of contact for employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, escalating complex and/or sensitive matters appropriately, ensuring all production shifts have access by visiting shifts periodically.
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Supports talent management efforts that drive employee engagement; learns and supports performance management system and process, implements talent development initiatives and may provide support to individuals with their development plans, promotions and identify appropriate recognition.
- Performs administrative tasks associated with employee benefits, includes working with COE and vendors to ensure timely enrollments into systems; PTO policies are communicated and assigned appropriately, partners with managers in the creation/update of job specifications/requirements.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, maintains employee personnel files, collaborate as appropriate with corporate COE on site benefits, service awards, leave administration, training requirements, contribute to employee handbook updates, etc.
- Maintain employee databases, ensuring all employee data is updated in timely manner and accurate, salary changes, job changes, etc., runs reports, downloads to excel and creates meaningful analytics. Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
- Actively participate on special company projects, may be individually and as part of a team, to ensure project success and team is supported.
- Conduct training, and counseling in support of the deployment of corporate COE HR program roll-out. Ensures communication, training, and adoption of such deployments.
- Performs other duties as assigned with a positive ‘can do and will do' approach
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience Human Resources specialist or generalist role with solid understanding of employment law and HR
- Bachelor's Degree required, PHR certification highly desired
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook/Teams
- Ability to multitask, be flexible and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Must exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Time management essential with attention to detail and accuracy in work is essential
- Knowledge of HRIS systems, ADP WFN, Success Factors, SAP required.
