Job Description:


Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic Track I (Temporary) on a Government contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions on tracked vehicles such as the M1A1 Abrams tank, M2A2 Bradley, M1064 Mortar Carrier, M113 Armored Personnel Carrier, M1150 Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), M104 Wolverine, M109 Howitzer, M88 Armored Recovery Vehicle; inspects Line Replaceable Units (LRUs); perform applicable testing and diagnostic procedures for the LRUs and fire control systems.
  • Performs select on-board sustainment level tasks i.e., major assembly replacements, to include the turret and fire control.
  • Correct malfunction(s) on the AT 1500 turbine engine
  • Perform plumb and synchronization procedures
  • Maintain Hull Mission Processor Unit (HMPU)
  • Maintain Turret Mission Processor Unit (TMPU)
  • Maintain Commanders Display Unit (CDU)
  • Maintain Gunners Control Display Panel (GCDP)
  • Maintain Commanders Independent Thermal Viewer/Electronics (CITV/EU).
  • Maintain Position/Navigation System (POS/NAV) using Built In Test (BIT) and Fault Isolation Test (FIT).
  • Works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level mechanic.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


  • US Citizen
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and background checks related to the position
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Must be able to obtain NAC
  • Former Soldier with prior military occupational skill (MOS) 63H, 63T, 91M, 91A, 91H is preferred but not required.
  • Formal training, completion of MOS 63H, 63T, 91M, 91A, 91H course (conducted under the auspices of the USA Ordnance Center and School) or three to five years' experience working on the track vehicles.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Must have the ability to verify serviceability of equipment, determine the economic reparability of the item and determine the extent of maintenance effort and repair parts required to restore the item to the prescribed serviceable condition.
  • Must be familiar with DA Form 5988-E/DA Form 2404.
  • Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment.
  • Must be able to stand for at least two continuous hours
  • Must be able to work in cramped areas for at least two continuous hours.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, and snow and sleet
  • Must be able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills
