Job Description:

Job Summary:   

The Credit Analyst will report to the Corporate Credit Manager, responsible for evaluating credit for potential new customers, monitoring existing customers, maintaining accurate customer database information, and minimizing bad debt risk.  Candidate should demonstrate sound judgment, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and overall desire to encourage company growth. 

Responsibilities:

·        Perform in-depth analysis of all new customer credit requests and established accounts utilizing credit reporting agencies, bank and trade references, financial reports, payment history and other means to establish credit worthiness and set credit lines timely

·        Keep sales staff and Credit Manager informed of progress on credit application requests daily

·        Ensure applications comply with company criteria (terms, GMROR, tax certs)

·        Maintenance of customer accounts (establish or review credit lines, update customer master with contacts, verify billing and email address, tax certificates on file, specific billing requirements, etc)

·        Communicate with sales staff and Credit Manager concerning “at risk” accounts or declines in current payment history.

·        Review project SOWs as needed to ensure compliance with company standards

·        Monitor and approve Order Release reports timely and throughout the day, working closely with the Credit Specialist to determine cause of hold status and steps for resolution

·        Assist in negotiating payment arrangements as needed.  Long term arrangements should be discussed and reviewed with the Credit Manager.  All effort should be made to obtain a Promissory Note when a long term arrangement occurs.

·        Assist in communication and training of credit department policies and procedures to company associates. 

·        Answer and respond to customer and associates’ calls and emails promptly

·        Assist with special projects, cross-training and backup responsibilities for team functions as needed

Education and Experience:

·        High school degree and two years college preferred

·        3-5 years of experience in Credit Analysis, preferably with Industrial background

·        NACM Certification desired, CBF or CCE

Knowledge Required:

·        Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial analysis

·        PC literate, preferably in Google G-Suite

·        Ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.  Possess a pleasant telephone voice and manner

·        Ability to effectively communicate at all levels as needed

·        Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills

·        Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects and submit application reviews timely

·        Above average math skills

·        Willingness to express ideas and offer recommendations to help improve processes and productivity

·        Embraces and easily adapts to change

·        Willing to take personal responsibility regarding job performance and require limited supervision
