Description
Position summary:

A lab technician works in a laboratory setting and works in various capacities to fulfill required duties. This includes diagnostic testing on organic matter and chemicals. They use high-specialized equipment to measure and report their findings. They use their training to collect samples and safely store biomedical materials and tools.

Essential duties:

• Perform quality control tests in the lab as well as on-site when necessary


• Conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments


• Planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and trials


• Recording and analyzing data


• Demonstrating procedures


• Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples


• Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment


• Providing technical support


• Presenting results to senior staff


• Writing reports, reviews and summaries


• Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments


• Carrying out risk assessments


• Perform quality control tests


• Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control


• Analyze retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management


• Recognize and report any safety issues

Qualifications
Educational requirements:

• Associate degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred)

• 5 years' laboratory experience in manufacturing environment


• Meticulous attention to detail


• Excellent written and oral communication skills


• Good teamworking skills


• Analytical skills


• Time management


• Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality


• Willing to meet on-call obligations as needed


• Ability to communicate effectively
