Job Description:


The Acute Dialysis Manager assists with the management of all aspects of clinical operations within designated acute hospitals. Manages the daily operations of acute dialysis programs throughout a geographical area, including human resource management, patient care, and business development of the Acute Dialysis Programs.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for quality patient care, leadership and supervision of field nursing staff to ensure safe, effective and efficient patient care in accordance with USRC policies, procedures, guidelines, OSHA, TDSHS, AAMI, federal, state and local regulations.
  • Provides supervisory visits to contracted hospitals and ensures compliance with company policy and procedure and regulatory agencies.
  • Supervises and conducts personnel actions such as performance appraisals, transfers and corrective and/or disciplinary actions for employee issues.
  • Achieve financial targets to include budget, labor costs, supply costs and expenditures, along with reconciling daily/monthly billing for acute treatments.
  • Participates in orientation and training of newly hired staff.
  • Manages the utilization of nursing staff as well as supplies/equipment to enhance productivity and maximize cost controls.
  • Performs all other duties, tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Maintain effective personnel management and employee relations, including evaluating the performance of all personnel; approving and submitting all hours worked and counseling and disciplining employees.
  • Monitor variance/incident reports and devise plan of action to the QAPI committee monthly.
  • Submit QAPI report monthly to all hospitals and Medical Director if assigned.


Requirements:

  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing, B.S. in Nursing preferred.
  • R.N. preferred with valid licensure in the state of Texas or required state.
  • Two (2) years of experience in nephrology nursing in acute or chronic outpatient setting with experience in dialysis patient care.
  • Meet federal and state (if applicable) guidelines for a supervisory nurse.
  • Effectively demonstrate a working knowledge of the English language and be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Be physically able to transfer and/or assist patients from stretcher or wheelchair as necessary. Be able to lift at least 30 pounds from floor level using proper body mechanics, and be capable of carrying two thirty pound containers of concentrate solution. Additionally, must be able to stand for periods of up to 4 hours during the dialysis process, excluding normal breaks.
