Reconcile and account for foreign subsidiaries. Communicate with appropriate managers and accountants to standardize reporting and keep month-end close timeline.
Account for federal and non-federal grants. Submit requests for payment from government agencies, calculate indirect rates, and assist managers with relevant portion of grant applications.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, track down errors and work with AP and AR to correct, improve processes for accounts that have habitual problems.
Maintain book and tax system for fixed assets. Report on capital expenditures compared to budget and communicate with managers to accurately record depreciation.
Calculate service agreements between NSF and NSF Holdings and between NSF and Foreign Subs. Record journal for domestic agreements and create invoices for international agreements.
Reconcile bank and investment accounts. Work with payables and receivables to correct any errors and improve processes for recording cash transactions.
Calculate, update, and run allocations.
Assistance with year-end financial audit.
Complete journal entries and other month-end duties.
Organize and file journal entries for the department.
Complete miscellaneous tax filings (e.g. property tax returns) and census forms.
Special projects for senior financial analyst, director of finance, CFO, and other managers
Other accounting responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
External Applicant: BA/BS in accounting.
Internal Applicant: five years equivalent work experience & 3 years NSF experience.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Willingness to work overtime.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and to handle stress.
