The 4-H Center Program Facilitator will facilitate a wide range of, mostly outdoor, educational opportunities for youth and adults, at the Arkansas 4-H Center.

Duties:
*Primary role includes facilitation for the following programs:
Arkansas Outdoor School (AOS) - an outdoor education field trip program for youth. Includes leading activities such as canoeing, hiking, archery, water ecology, Arkansas wildlife, orienteering and other outdoor and science related activities. Year-round program. Daily groups are common in the Fall and Spring.
Science Enrichment Education for Kids (SEEK) - a 12 week science program for home schooled students. Includes developing curriculum for and classroom management of up to 4 groups of students per week.
AOS Summer Day Camp - a summer day camp program with a variety of activities/themes. Includes developing camp programming, coordinating volunteers/interns, conducting activities, lifeguarding (must be willing to get certified if not currently certified)
ExCEL Leadership program - a leadership/teambuilding program for 8th grade through adult groups. Includes facilitating teambuilding initiatives, rock wall climbing, and high ropes course. Year-round program.
4-H Overnight Camps - traditional overnight camps at the 4-H Center. Includes assisting with camp programming and coordinating camp activities. Year-round program.
*Assist with the planning, organizing, conducting and evaluation of 4-H Center Programs
*Assist with further development of outdoor education programs/camps at the Arkansas 4-H Center with the Arkansas 4-H faculty.
*Working with Extension staff in the development and implementation of 4-H State programs.
*Maintaining 4-H Center Programs equipment and care and upkeep of educational wildlife.
*Other duties as assigned.
*This is a program fee funded position with employment contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued fund availability.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in youth development/education, outdoor recreation, or other related area of study is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with youth. Experience with outdoor skills such as canoeing, fishing, archery, hiking, camping, ropes course. Lifeguard/CPR/First-Aid certification/knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications, data management, & email. Good oral & written communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, & prioritize work from multiple projects. Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, & assume responsibility for various projects & activities. Ability to respond positively to direction from supervisors & work without direct supervision. Ability to remain focused & exercise close attention to detail.
