Responsible for the daily management of department activities including staff supervision and development, planning, budget, quality and facility operations and coordinating patient services to ensure high quality patient care and optimal outcomes.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
-Must have completed a graduate or post-graduate level Nurse Practitioner educational program accredited by a national nursing education accrediting body that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Board of Nursing.
-Must have a Master's degree in Nursing.

Experience:
-Must have five years of Nurse Practitioner clinical experience in a similar specialty area plus one year of progressively responsible supervisory experience

Equivalent Experience:
-If hired at Parkland before March 1, 2014, may have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification/Registration/Licensure:
-Must have current, valid RN license with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
-Must have a current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) by the Texas Board of Nursing.
-Must have current certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner by National Certification Corporation.
-- Must have current CPR-Healthcare Provider (CPR-HP) certification.from one of the following:
oAmerican Heart Association
oAmerican Red Cross Rescuer
oMilitary Training Network.

-Must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures, if any.
-Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction by November 1, 2014 or obtain within 30 days of placement in role whichever date is greater.
-Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-100.HCB: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals by November 1, 2014 or obtain within 30 days of placement in role whichever date is greater.
-Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) by November 1, 2014 or obtain within 30 days of placement in role whichever date is greater.

Skills or Special Abilities:
-Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nursing Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.
-Must demonstrate leadership ability and effective administrative management skills.
-Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills in relating to professional staff, medical staff, students, patients and families.
-Must have superior clinical skills.
-Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
