Co-Manufacturing Ops Manager – Franklin, TN

The role is leading the strategy execution support and supply chain management of co-manufacturing activities for Mars Pet Nutrition NA.  The role is critical in supporting our external manufacturing supply chain in order to support Mars Pet Nutrition NA growth and innovation agenda, ensuring flawless execution of co-packing activities.  This role will also focus on driving value creation and security of supply for Mars.

 

What are we looking for? 


  • Bachelor’s degree is required with emphasis in supply chain/economics/business

  • 3+ years commercial (procurement) and/or supply chain experience

  • Food Industry experience preferred

  • Computer skills advanced to use data input and retrieval systems, spreadsheets, word processors and formulation applications are required.

 

What would be your key responsibilities? 


  • Support forecasting activities between Planning team and Suppliers/Co-Manufacturers.

  • Support invoice and PO resolution. 

  • Work through issues with Co-Man production bottlenecks or material shortages.

  • Act as the liaison between the Sourcing Managers, Suppliers, and Supply Chain Operations Associates with regards to forecasts, volumes, and product movements. 

  • Problem solve and manage Supplier Quality issues from the Operations perspective.

  • Drive and leverage supplier’s capabilities to reduce Mars TCO in the supply chain.

  • Define and execute Inventory reduction opportunities across the entire Co-Manufacturer network.

  • Negotiate and contract one off purchases as needed for business continuity.

  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to deliver savings back to business & challenge current processes deliver a more efficient supply-chain.

  • Work closely and collaboratively on the day-to-day issue management with the Supply and Quality & Food Safety teams. The job holder needs to influence development of these activities and identify continuous improvement opportunities to deliver savings back to business. 

  • Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words, and spirit.

  • Work closely and collaboratively on the day-to-day issue management with the entire Supply Chain team including EMQA.

  • The job holder needs to influence development of these activities and identify continuous improvement opportunities to deliver savings back to business.
