The Mazor Principal Data and Strategy Analyst is a highly visible and critical role responsible for the strategic development of performance-based tools and processes that utilize appropriate metrics to execute the Mazor Training and Education organizations plans and maximize the performance of the Mazor Certification Team.

In this role, you will support the development and execution of programs, initiatives and tools that use appropriate metrics and facilitate the accomplishment of increasing the adoption of surgical robotics in spine surgery. You will be responsible for capturing and interpreting Mazor utilization and Medtronic implant attachment to develop training and education strategies to meet the strategic objectives of Core Spine, Enabling Technologies and the Restorative Therapy Group. You will also assist the Senior Manager of Mazor Certification in creating the vision and providing the strategic direction for the development of best-in-class medical education for Mazor Robotic Assisted Surgery Programs.

This role is open to remote within the continental United States. Occasional travel may be required.

A Day in the Life



  • You will set and reinforce strategic vision through architecting framework that guide the decisions and directions of the business

  • Execute on strategic goals through identification of priority initiatives, making informed tradeoff decisions, with a focus on return on investment and increased adoption of robotic spine surgery

  • Be the liaison to ensure broad alignment on medical education strategy, navigating the matrix to ensure buy in and articulating messaging through formal presentations and communication plans.

  • Partner across matrix to merge data sources and create channels to data and information for the Mazor Certification Team, business leadership and functional partners.

  • Be the liaison between Sales Enablement, Commercial Strategy, Enabling/Spine Marketing, Surgical Synergies Sales and other partner functions

  • Curate information, perform analyses, and align with functional partners on key business decisions

  • Manage Training and Education reporting and tools including performance tracking, customer stick rates, system utilization, Medtronic implant usage and correlation to training and education events

  • Provide analytics and insights. Identify key performance indicators and report on them to continuously monitor education program success. Create novel informatics to address leadership questions and inform strategy and direction

  • Maintain tools to ensure ongoing operation and reporting while identifying potential areas of improvement and automation as capabilities and business models evolve

  • Represent Mazor Medical Education interests and lead discussions during business development activities around new technologies and services. Evaluate areas of overlap, value, and opportunity

  • Act as an internal consultant and champion by enhancing quality, improving efficiency, increasing growth/ revenue, reducing costs, and improving the customer experience.

  • Leads, drives, and executes special projects to enhance medical education analytics and reporting, business processes and efficiency, and overall Sales force effectiveness, establishing and developing collaborative relationships with colleagues in Marketing, IT, HR, Finance, Operations, and other functions as needed

  • Develops and distributes analytics and reporting to assist field sales and sales leadership tracking of key performance indicators

  • Determines and institutes optimal use of Sales Enablement platforms and tools to facilitate sales and marketing objectives

  • This position requires minimal travel, approximately 10 - 15%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors' Degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience in Sales Operations, Marketing, Business Analytics, Business Development, Strategy, Project Management, Engineering, Consulting or Enterprise Sales, OR

  • Masters' Degree with at least 5 years

Nice to Have


  • Bachelors' Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science or related field

  • MBA strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with analytical capabilities such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SalesForce and Databricks.

  • Comfortable with current Microsoft Office Suite (O365), flowcharting tools, and sharing through Teams (or equivalent)

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodology and design thinking

  • Demonstrated experience in effective interactions with senior executives in a Fortune 500 company

  • Ability to motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.

  • Excellent analytical, modeling, and/or forecasting skills; ability to create effective reporting and analytics from raw data
