Old National Bank is currently seeking a Mortgage Pre-Closing associate for the Tecumseh, MI You will work directly with processors, loan officers and closers to prepare loans for closing. You will be responsible for calling employers to verify employment, contacting homeowner's insurance agents and requesting payoffs from other financial institutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for correcting any items that may be requested from the post-closing team.

Job Responsibilities

• Review loans in the Preclosing pipeline view to confirm the necessary items that will be needed to be attained for the file.


• Call Homeowner's Insurance Agents to update the mortgagee clauses on refinance transactions.


• Review Homeowner's insurance policies on purchases and communicate any changes needed with the Processing Specialists.


• Call, email, or fax other institutions to get payoff letters for loans. These can be payoff letters for 1 st mortgages, 2 nd mortgages, HELOCS, etc.


• Contact internal or external Human Resource Departments or CPAs to confirm that our borrower(s) are still currently employed and complete the Verbal Verification of Employment form.


• Use the internet to search for business entity licenses to verify if businesses are still active and in good standing with the state.


• Communicate with internal Processing Specialists to gauge when the loans will close, to avoid repeat work.


• Update dates in the ONB Pre- Closing Form when items are received to track when the loan can be assigned to a closer.


• Update any items needed if a closing date gets changed.


• Work on and correct any items that Post Closing may require.

• High School Diploma or GED


• 1-3 years of previous mortgage loan experience preferred


• An understanding of the required mortgage loan documentation


• The ability to manage multiple functions and priorities at the same time while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and a high level of accuracy


• Experience in utilizing a personal computer and general office equipment


• The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers


• Strong organizational skills
