Dewberry is seeking an attentive, organized, and motivated individual to fill the role of Project Manager to help manage projects and support business growth in the areas of geospatial sciences and related technologies. The Project Manager will reside in Alaska and possess or can quickly gain in-depth knowledge of the regional geospatial landscape including stakeholders in government, non-profit, academic, and private entities, along with potential funding sources and regional drivers for geospatial services. A primary focus will be the Alaska Coastal Mapping Coordination project where the Project Manager will assist Dewberry and the Government in engaging Alaska stakeholders in the Alaska coastal mapping process. Among the responsibilities will be to help prepare an Outreach Plan detailing stakeholders, raising awareness, activity promotion, and input on funding options and to organize and convene an Alaska Coastal Mapping Summit and to help develop and disseminate outreach material.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
Project Coordination
Project Coordinator responsibilities will include providing meeting facilitation for multiple technical and business stakeholders to help determine solutions to meet joint requirements. To be successful, you must have the ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and help coordinate program integration related tasks, set up and conduct meetings with the responsible parties, and provide polished, comprehensive outputs. You must be a quick learner with strong understanding of coastal mapping technologies including lidar, topobathy lidar, imagery collection, bathymetry, and other related survey techniques. Other responsibilities include:
Plan meetings and workshops, including but not limited to: finding and securing sites, designing and setting up meeting rooms, communicating with stakeholders, developing announcements, and documenting meetings as necessary
- Serve as host/moderator/facilitator for select meetings
- Coordinate communication and dissemination of decisions, information flow, and project information
- Provide technical support and expertise before, during, and after in-person or virtual meetings
- Follow up and track all stakeholder communications and compiles needed responses into spreadsheets/reports
- Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as needed

Required Skills & Required Experience

Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors' Degree or equivalent years of experience
- 5+ years of experience in the geospatial profession preferably in the role of project management, project coordination, and/or business development
- Possesses sound knowledge of Remote Sensing technology specifically involving coastal mapping in Alaska
- Lives locally within Alaska, preferably Anchorage area
- Possesses sound knowledge of the Alaska geospatial community
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal relationship, and managerial skills
- Outgoing, confident, patient, and has a strong virtual and in-person presence/professional tone of voice to fit the role of a facilitator as needed
- Experience in meeting facilitation (both in-person and virtual), including managing stakeholders, supporting effective collaboration, managing logistics, and providing comprehensive documentation (i.e. action item generation/tracking, meeting minutes, lessons learned)
- Ability to create concise, clear, and compelling briefing materials and polished deliverables within tight timelines and for multiple audiences
- Possesses a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite programs including Outlook, Project, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint
- Technical proficiency with currently available virtual meeting platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, Google, Facebook, WebEx, etc.)
Other Required Attributes
- Ability to support Business Development activities for remote sensing, GIS, and related technologies and maintain strong client relationships
- Ability to share project experiences/technology solutions/information to clients, colleagues, and others through the development of blogs, articles, videos, ID posts, and conference presentations
- Maintains strong knowledge of client/agency programs, rules and regulations and experience completing work in/for various federal agencies, as well as for state, local and commercial clients
- Ability to work independently and perform on-the-fly problem solving as well as part of a remote, multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work within a team environment
- Able to travel when necessary to client sites or other Dewberry offices
Beneficial Attributes
- Possesses or working towards PMP, GISP, ASPRS and/or other related certifications
- Possesses extensive knowledge of the specifications and production processes for geospatial data, services, and application development
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of GIS technology and services, including ESRI's Enterprise GIS Suite
- Is familiar with open source GIS technology and services
- If applicable to the project or program, currently holds or can obtain a security clearance at the appropriate level
- Has knowledge of and experience in Emergency Management operations as it relates to the disaster preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation cycle

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
