Our Global HR team partners with our business leaders to attract, retain, and develop Hilton's most important asset, our Team Members.

What will I be doing?

The Payroll Compliance Manager will continuously look for opportunities to improve audit readiness and minimize potential risks by inventorying, assessing, crafting, modifying and/or developing policies and practices in support of payroll compliance and quality assurance measures. You will aid in educating partners on policy and practice obligations which assure Hilton is meeting all requirements of various employment laws, enterprise policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

More specifically, you will:


  • Own the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the US payroll compliance portfolio, including the creation and reporting of meaningful metrics to measure the portfolio's effectiveness
  • Responsible for audit data review and approval, specific to wages and hours worked Identify potential areas of payroll compliance vulnerability and risk; recommend tools and solutions to improve and promote compliance with Hilton policies, regulatory laws, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Monitor legislative changes impacting U.S. payroll, and stay on top of changes to collective bargaining agreements; translate changes into business requirements to be used by the technology support team to assure the payroll system is updated accordingly
  • Mitigate identified or emerging risks, measure internal control effectiveness, and develop action items to remediate existing risk cases
  • Support the creation and/or deployment of tools and templates to aid with executing process controls, such as enhanced exception reports; be a key participant on a wide variety of projects that support HR, Workforce Management, Operations, and Finance, through regular pro-active interaction to understand the needs of the business
  • Support and/or drive key business and ad hoc Payroll initiatives such as property transitions within Hilton's managed estate, and other projects affecting large populations of Hilton's workforce, to guarantee adherence and quality assurance measures are applied

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5+) years operational experience in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Audit, Payroll or HR
  • Demonstrable experience in assessing process gaps, analyzing needs, crafting and developing solutions, and evaluating efficiency

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Knowledge FLSA and DOL standards
  • Advanced Excel skills, including macro development and data validation methods
  • Experience or certification in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
