Used Equipment Inspector at Wagner Equipment Co. in aurora, Colorado

Job Description:

Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for a Used Equipment Inspector in Aurora, CO.

The Used Equipment Inspector has responsibility for inspecting machines for potential trade, consignment or purchase. Performs light mechanical work on used machines, and shows machines to prospective customers. Depending on location assigned, may be responsible for maintaining the used equipment display area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Administrative:

• Maintains an orderly and tidy used equipment display area, if required


• Photographs machines for marketing efforts

Organizational:

• Coordinates inspection process with sales people and customers

Interpersonal:

• Assists walk-in customers

Technical:

• Starts and shows machine to prospective buyers


• Inspects potential trades, consignments, fleet retirements, and purchases


• Inspects trades as they are received to make sure they are complete and in the same condition as initially inspected


• Measures and inspects undercarriages on rental and used machines


• Coordinates repair and sales preparation of used equipment


• Inspects used rental equipment for customer damage and contact customer when necessary to negotiate repair


• Coordinates service on flat tires, glass replacement, replacing batteries


• Makes minor repairs to designated machines

 

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education Required: High school diploma or GED

Minimum Experience Required: Five years as a heavy equipment technician on Caterpillar equipment and a good familiarity with all construction machinery

• 1-3 years Administrative/Clerical


• 1-3 years Customer Service Experience


• 3-5 years Technical or Mechanical (machine service/maint)
