DESCRIPTION:
If you are an Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will be responsible for executing projects focused on new product development and customer support. Supporting the Refrigeration Division's Transportation Group, this position allows you to work closely with customers and internal cross functional teams to release new products and support existing products in the transportation refrigeration and air-conditioning markets. You may also have projects related to cost reductions and plant support.
 

AS A PROJECT ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 



  • Act as a technical project leader for cross functional teams.



  • Ensure performance and reliability of products through analysis, testing and collaboration with other groups such as reliability, manufacturing and supplier quality.



  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop designs and release new and modified products.



  • Use structured problem-solving method to determine root cause and corrective actions to issues.



  • Perform analytical calculations in areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer and machine design to aid development.



  • Work as a team with lab technicians to setup and monitor testing.



  • Present technical details to internal audiences at weekly meetings, technical reviews and at customers as needed

Travel Requirements: 5-10%



Schedule:
We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:



  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar field.



  • Prior experience as a co-op/intern or extracurricular engineering experience.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication.



  • Legal authorization to work in the United States -Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.



 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  



  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology plus 1 year of experience.



  • Prior experience with machine design, thermodynamics, compressors



  • Experience with MatLab, DOMO



  • Experience with utilizing DFMEA

The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities.
