Responsibilities
INL is seeking a postdoctoral candidate to contribute to cutting-edge theoretical research while demonstrating the potential of nuclear energy to contribute to a cleaner energy future. The ideal candidate is a recent PhD graduate with a strong background in mathematics and thermohydraulic systems. The activity will focus on the development of validation, extrapolation, and scaling methodologies (preferred Dynamic System Scaling) to quantitatively assess the capability of energy system models to predict the behavior of nuclear plants. All while part of an integrated energy system that may include multiple generation sources and energy use technologies.

* Demonstrated oral and written communication skills required.
* US Citizens or applicants with up to date visas and eligibility to work in the US will be considered for this position
* PhD requirements must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 years
* Demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong experience in object-oriented software development
Knowledge of any of the following software languages: C , Modelica, Python
Experience in experimental facility scaling for software validation
Experience in artificial intelligence (AI) deployment, validation
Familiarity with version control software like Git or SVN
Familiarity with scaling and validation methodologies This position might require access to technology that is subject to export control requirements, therefore, preference will be given to candidates able to access this information without an export control license.
Must be willing to work in a cultural diverse work environment.
