Responsibilities

In this role, you will act as a Sr. LVN in the ambulatory care setting; assisting in providing total patient care, maintaining high standards of care, and recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms of life threatening emergencies. Act as a staff person in the office assisting with total patient care. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, injections, venipunctures, IV's and preparing patients for examination. Deliver excellent customer service while interacting with patients and manage smooth patient care flow. Prepares patients for the provider by reviewing current medications and provide a record of documentation in the patient chart. Ability to set up exam rooms for general office visits, and procedure rooms based on patient visit needs. Provide assistance to the physician during examination or procedure as needed. . Communicate all significant clinical findings to Physician and serve as an advocate for the patient utilizing appropriate resourcesQualifications

Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomology and life threatening medical problems. Current CPR certification - American Heart Association or Red Cross. Ability to skillfully administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications and perform IV's. Ability to perform venipuncture with skill, adhering to all OSHA PPE safety requirements. Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and drug refills. Ability to assist in medical emergencies and office procedures. Ability to use computerized patient care systems. Knowledge of medical terminology. Skill to accurately perform a 12-lead EKG. Ability to assist in orientation of new staff. Ability to order medical and clinical supplies and maintain adequate inventory. Ability to organize tasks to facilitate smooth work/patient flow. Knowledge and ability to set up and assist physician with any procedures such as, but not limited to audiometry, spirometry, O2 saturation levels, skin tag and mole removals, ear lavage, colposcopies,. Ability to perform accurate quality control and patient sample testing for waived tests. Knowledge of MSDS and emergency treatments. Ability to work overtime in cases of emergency. Minimum of two years' experience as an LVN in a urgent care/pediatric office.
Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures
Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers
Performs phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, IV starts/fluids, and other skills within scope of practice
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems

* Must possess a valid phlebotomy/IV certificate and have experience in drawing pediatric patients. Possess license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners
Possession of CPR certification/BCLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Possession EKG, Phlebotomy and IV certification
