Ambassador PRN, Varied Shift at BSA Health System in Amarillo, Texas

Job Description:

BSA Gourmet is the Patient Nutrition Services department room service program that serves the patients in the hospital. BSA Gourmet offers a variety of both upscale and homestyle choices that are freshly prepared and delivered to the patient's room in a timely manner. The Patient Nutrition Service department consists of employees in different roles working together to ensure the quality of food and service to the patients is excellent. The BSA Gourmet service is available from 6:30am - 7pm with breakfast at 6:30am and lunch at 11am.

Job Summary:
The Ambassador is responsible for serving meals and nourishments to patients in a professional and efficient manner. Instructs patients on the meal ordering system and assists patients in placing orders. Assesses the patient's capabilities to utilize the meal order system. Records nutrient intake from meals and communicates with nurses and dietary staff.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
High school diploma or GED is preferred

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Previous food service or restaurant experience is strongly preferred
Knowledge of food preparation and principles of sanitation
Requires basic computer skills and knowledge of using a tablet generated meal ordering system to assist patients
Self-motivated, outgoing, high energy individual and ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members and other BSA staff members
Good verbal, organizational and follow through skills
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
Good hand, eye coordination
Operation of basic food service equipment
Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately
