Job Description:

BSA Urgent Care is open 7 days of the week from 8am - 8pm. Closed Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Urgent Care is a clinic, part of BSA Health System to care for patients with non life threatening medical emergencies. Urgent Care Clinic is exclusive to electronic health records (E.H.R) with no paper charts. Employees must be able to navigate project management and electronic medical records.

Job Summary:
Assists with daily clinic operations in a family practice setting, including obtaining vital signs of patients, patient flow, patient tracking, stocking supplies, and a wide variety of duties, as needed. Must be able to document accurate and efficiently in electronic health record.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Minimum of 18-years of age
CPR certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Previous hospital/clinic based Patient Care Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT-B and/or CNA strongly preferred
Texas CNA certificate; current or previously held in good standing preferred
Able to pass the BSA Acute Care Technical Skills Competency to include but not limited to: Manual Blood
Pressure, I&O Calculation.
Ability to recognize important patient observations and communicate it to the appropriate team member
Ability to manipulate, position, transfer and ambulate various size patients both full assist or partial assist.
Basic addition and subtraction skills required
Computer skills necessary; minimum 25 wpm accurate
Medical terminology a plus
Prioritize multiple requests
Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions
Clear and effective communication (written and verbal) with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
Outgoing; friendly and compassionate customer service skills needed; must be committed to patient and family satisfaction
