JOB OPPORTUNITY:
MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST-ASCP, ST. MARKS HOSPITAL
THE MEDICAL LAB SCIENTIST - ASCP organizes and performs the daily activities of his or her assigned sections. The section(s) may be Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Microbiology or Immunology. The MLS ensures that performing the daily activities and the validity of test results and quality control are completed for the specific section to which he/she is assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
* Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or related sciences within 3 months of hire. Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Associates degree is acceptable.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
* Need to be ASCP certified or registry eligible, by providing documentation of certification within 3 months of hire. ASCP Licensure in a specialty area will be considered.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATION:
* Effective communication skills; both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills.
