Overview
Provides administrative and clinical practice leadership to and manages Genetic Counselors (anticipated to eventually be 20-25 GCs) throughout Seattle Children's. In collaboration with the Director of Specialty Practice, the Division Chief of Genetic Medicine, and the Medical Directors of Clinical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics, the GC Manager participates in developing structured GC associated metrics for assessing outcomes of GC care and quality of care metrics; ensuring that GCs meet various state and federal regulatory agency requirements, and ensuring that GCs participate in cost-savings and revenue-generating practices. Develops, revises and administers operating policies, procedures and standards for the program/unit. The GC Manager will work with the Division and Hospital leadership on strategic planning, program growth including partnering with other service lines, research involvement, and involvement in the UW Genetic Counseling Training program. In addition to oversight responsibilities, the position provides direct clinical services.

Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
- Master of Science in Genetic Counseling.
- Seven (7) plus years of Genetic Counselor experience
- Three (3) plus years of Genetic Counselor supervisory experience

Required Credentials:
- Washington State Licensure as a Genetic Counselor
- Board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics.
- Fulfill the expectations for a Genetic Counselor as outlined by the American Board of Genetic Counseling

Preferred:
- Experience in pediatric genetics or equivalent work.
- Experience working in an ambulatory department of a hospital or medical center
- Experience working in a pediatric setting
- Experience working in an academic medical center
- Experience managing a culturally diverse staff
- Experience with health billing and reimbursement systems
