Nemera in Buffalo Grove, IL is looking for a Maintenance Manager for a 1st shift opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for safety training, personnel training and equipment troubleshooting for the manufacturing area
Identify, recommend and implement improvement items in the maintenance and manufacturing areas of the organization to eliminate waste and non-conforming product
Continuously improve and manage the Preventative Maintenance Plan
Direct the maintenance staff to analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment and manage them to take necessary steps to correct or eliminate. Test and make the necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality. Oversee and manage maintenance activity outsourced to contractors
Help to develop and maintain measurement systems to accurately track key maintenance performance parameters and implement corrective actions that resolve the problems and issues
Review monthly expenditures by the maintenance department to assure monthly and annual profitability
Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies
Ensure compliance of all equipment, products and procedures to the Quality System
Assist with New Equipment Qualifying, Project Management, Plant Expansions, Plant Layout Modifications
Responsible for implementing and sustaining LEAN, including TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5-S initiatives
Participate, promote and adhere to the plant wide safety program
Represent the Maintenance organization when interfacing with other plant departments and with customers
Support and maintain all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement as well as standard work procedures
Lead installation and removal of new and used equipment
Coordinate with managers re: scheduling maintenance and when repairs must be performed including expected completion date or time
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred
At least 3 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work
At least 5 years of maintenance experience
Experience with injection molding and/or automation machine maintenance
Lean manufacturing background
Must have managerial experience within a manufacturing setting
Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic skills
Read and troubleshoot with electrical/mechanical prints
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP a plus
