What will you do
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
 
How will you do it

• Coordinates incoming and outgoing order processing and documentation, including generating delivery/shipping documents.


• Liaises with internal and external transport companies/departments for timely in-coming/ out-going shipments.


• Ensures prompt and accurate declaration of permits and prompt delivery and clearance of shipments.


• Investigates all non-conformance actions and recommends corrective actions.


• Receives and checks production inbound material accurately and timely.


• Maintains shipping related documents either hard copy or computer based, that are well organized, accurate, easily accessible, and in accordance with set departmental standards as well as being ISO compliant.


• Creates and updates system information related to the shipping department accurately and in a timely manner.


• Prepares, processes and distributes documents such as picking tickets, bills of lading, packing lists, route sheets, field returns, etc. 


• Orders shipping related supplies as required preventing possibility of shortages.


• Operates standard office equipment including Personal Computer, FAX, copier, scanner, other carrier’s PC based systems, etc.


• Participate in HPT functions.


• Other duties may be assigned, and adhere to Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

What we look for
Required

• High School graduate.


• Five years of experience with trucking/traffic Knowledge.


• Knowledge of Oversized & Wide Loads Regulations (permits, banners, flags, lights, escort, etc.)


• Definitions & restrictions as well as requirements by State.


• Experience supervising others who are associated with the shipping, receiving, and packing functions.


• Experience using an ERP/MRP systems.

 
Preferred

• College degree.


• Seven years of experience with trucking/traffic knowledge.


• Strong leadership skills.


• Experience using SAP.
