Remediation Equipment Operator at The Doe Run Company in Park Hills, Missouri

Job Description:

Do you have at least 1 year of experience with operating heavy machinery? The Doe Run Company is seeking a Remediation Equipment Operator to operate heavy machinery in order to move, resize, construct, and grade land according to approved, engineered design specifications. This position is based out of Park Hills, MO.

Responsibilities:


  • Operate on- and off- road equipment such as excavators, dozers, articulated trucks, dump trucks, wheel loaders, skid steers, etc.

  • Perform grade work such as building slopes and dams, cutting and installing drainage ditches and spillways, leveling ground for buildings, and digging footings.

  • Perform routine maintenance and light repair of mobile equipment (including maintaining hoses, oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, fluids, lubricants, and tire pressure).

  • Operate in accordance with EPA approved procedures.

  • Perform equipment inspections. Clean and maintain all equipment, work areas, and construction sites according to standard operating procedures.

  • Ensure proper storage of equipment and materials.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:


  • 1-3 years of heavy machinery operation.

  • Current, valid driver’s license.

  • Experience identifying materials.

  • Environmental, health & safety rules and regulations (provided upon hire).

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Ability to safely operate excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steer, track hoes, dump trucks, and haul trucks.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design specifications.

  • Knowledge of yardage and basic math ability.

  • Ability to judge conditions for safety.

  • Ability to use a hydraulic hammer and other tools.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:


  • Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, hard hat, safety boots, and eyewear.

  • Regularly requires work near moving, mechanical parts and with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and vibration.

  • Frequently requires working at heights of 4’ or more with fall protection.

  • Generally exposed to loud noise levels.

  • Regularly requires driving and repetitive movement.

  • Frequently requires hearing, reaching, climbing, or balancing.

  • Occasionally requires talking, standing, walking, and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.

  • Requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, three-dimensional vision and precise hand-eye coordination.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds or more.
