Position Overview

Guides the talent acquisition program and assists with the succession planning program, working closely with other members of the Human Resources department and with managers throughout the company. Assists all locations regarding talent acquisition related activities starting with recruitment and continuing through on-boarding. Uses independent judgment in performing responsibilities. Exposed to personal and confidential information requiring appropriate discretion. Works from corporate driven objectives as to the desired outcome of the talent acquisition and succession planning. programs   This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources and is a virtual / home-based role. Priority placed on candidates living in States where we have larger facilities, Kansas, Washington State, and Florida. Other virtual U.S. locations may be considered based on the candidate’s experience level and willingness to travel.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Establishes, develops, and utilizes talent acquisition channels internally and externally, primarily for technical and managerial talent, but also for supervisory, administrative and skilled talent at the plant level.


• Optimizes the use of social media, external recruiters, college recruiting, job-boards, university outplacement, technical job boards, and professional and personal networks to ensure a stream of talent for consideration.


• Interfaces with functional managers to determine optimal organization competencies required within determined structures, offering structural ideas that may enhance or simplify talent acquisition.


• Develops recruiting media and resources.


• Directly leads or assists plant HR Managers and other HR professionals in utilizing talent acquisition channels to find and effectively recruit and on-board talent.


• Develops inter-industry networks to find talent, prospectively recruiting talent and investigating potential industry talent pools in order to meet short- and long-term demand.


• Manages onboarding programs and systems in coordination with other HR areas and functional departments, ensuring that new employees are completely satisfied with their decision to join Ash Grove.


• Assists the Senior Director, Human Resources to develop, write, and implement regular succession programs.


• Manages the branding of Ash Grove from a talent acquisition perspective.

Other Requirements

• Other Extensive knowledge of talent acquisition related HR practices.


• Other Skills needed include human resources management, planning, decision making, influencing, organization, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills.


• Other Ability to use computer programs to input, store, and retrieve data as well as to generate reports and documentation which provide insightful, detailed information about the talent acquisition function.


• Ability to travel to various sites when regular business travel resumes.

Experience

• 10 years of experience in relevant human resource management experience with a primary focus on recruiting, organizational development, career development and/or training.

Licenses and Certifications

• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (Preferred)

Education

Bachelor's Degree in human resource management, management, business administration or related area of concentration.
